We’d like to share a great article the Providence Preservation Society (PPS) published about us titled: Learning Preservation Carpentry One Step at a Time. The article written by Keating Zelenke, who is a Special Projects Fellow of the PPS, talks about the efforts our president, Noel Sanchez, did to train a group of five young workers by organizing a workshop with focusing on the restoration of the 18th century Esek Hopkins Homestead located in Wanskuck.
Taking on the project of restoring a house as old as this one represents a great challenge for all carpenters —both beginner and experienced. To our surprise, each layer of the historical Esek Home revealed different styles and intricate interior details, where many of the house’s rooms were added at different times to create an interesting collage of architectural styles.
