At Casa Buena Builders, one of our goals is to bring old homes back to the beauty and luster of when they were built. We love to see how what has been neglected and touched by time can be brought back to life with a little treatment and dedication.
That’s the case with windows in older homes. Fine and resistant woods that have been able to withstand the onslaught of time for several centuries, strong crystals that have also accompanied many stories lived in their interiors. We believe it is important for our city to be recognized for loving history since its foundation. And one of the most important ways to reflect this is by restoring the structures that give it its special character.
Windows are a very important face of the structure, their design can give character and feeling to a building from its façade. Whether in a house or a building, they also represent the entrance of sunlight and their arrangement in the space allows to direct it where it is most needed. For this reason, renovating them and keeping them in good condition allows energy savings and the use of natural light.
We are specialists in the reconstruction and maintaining of wood window frames and their glass. Using fine woods such as cedar, mahogany, among others to recreate their original shine and to guarantee their long lasting durability. The reconstruction and maintenance of windows of historic houses has been one of the areas that our company values, having even conducted training workshops on carpentry specializing in windows in El Salvador, with a group of artisans from the city of Morazan in 2020. The exchange of techniques and the use they make of local woods was also a valuable resource to expand our knowledge, reinforcing our passion for helping the renovation of architectural pieces that bring history back to life.
